    Baghdad today - Baghdad
Today, Tuesday (April 30, 2024), the Federal Integrity Commission revealed fraud and suspicions of corruption in a project costing 73 billion dinars in Kirkuk Governorate.
The authority stated in a statement received by “Baghdad Today” that “the Kirkuk Investigation Office team, which moved to the governorate office, was able, after follow-up and scrutiny, to reveal the presence of tampering in the paragraphs of the speculative inspection prepared for the paving project of the second lane of the (Kirkuk - Hawija - Manzala) road.” And the entrances to Kirkuk.
She stated, “The total amount allocated to implement the project amounted to (73,144,803,950) billion dinars,” noting that “the original speculative disclosure was seized and presented before the judge of the Kirkuk Investigative Court, which is competent to look into integrity issues, for the purpose of taking appropriate legal measures against those who were negligent.”

She continued, "The fundamental investigation and audit work carried out by the team in the Kirkuk Sewerage Directorate revealed suspicions of corruption that marred the work of the Directorate and the Purchasing and Receiving Committees formed at the end of 2020 for the purpose of purchasing 40 divers for the treatment and lifting stations."
She explained, “The submersibles were purchased from an office in the governorate at inflated prices, pointing out that fake offer receipts were provided, and that the purchase process was made contrary to speculative disclosure.”
