Najaf administrators and engineers are demanding appointments and job opportunities

Hundreds of administrators and engineers demonstrated in Najaf to demand that they be included in job grades in contracts allocated to the governorate and provide job opportunities.
Alaa Hamid, one of the administrative demonstrators, told “Al-Sabah”: This is the sixth demonstration organized by graduates of administrative colleges in the governorate to demand their share of the contracts that were allocated to Najaf Governorate, similar to the share received by educators and other specializations.
He added that there are three thousand degrees in contracts allocated to administrators, but they did not obtain this share in full due to some controls and grades of differentiation that were put in place, so that a large portion of the grades went to others. Therefore, we demand that administrators be excluded from the differentiation with other specializations so that they obtain their full share of grades. Contracts, indicating that the demonstrators decided to escalate and sit in on the main street between Najaf and Kufa until their demands are met. For their part, the engineers who participated in the demonstrations with the administrators demanded that they be given a share of appointments and that they be provided with suitable job opportunities in the projects implemented by the governorate. Engineer Abbas Jaber told Al-Sabah: The protesting engineers called on the government to increase job grades and provide fair opportunities for appointment that include all categories of university graduates.
He continued that the engineers also called for the establishment of mechanisms to employ graduates of the governorate in the private sector and that they be given priority, especially in investment projects and reconstruction projects, through monitoring the contracts concluded with the beneficiary entities, as well as oversight by the governorate council over the application of the labor and social security law and the amount of salaries paid. It is given to workers in all projects.
Jaber explained that many companies and contractors deprive workers and engineers of their rights and are employed without security or remunerative salaries, taking advantage of their urgent need for work and the absence of oversight.
In turn, member of the Provincial Council, Anwar Thaban Al-Shibli, told Al-Sabah: The demands of the demonstrators have been submitted to the Provincial Office as well as the competent authorities in the government for consideration.
