The Water Resources Directorate in Diwaniyah has taken several measures to preserve the water quota and deliver it to remote agricultural areas.
The director of water resources in the governorate, Engineer Musafer Al-Shubaili, told “Al-Sabah”: The technical and engineering staff of his directorate implemented a set of measures to conserve water and prevent its wastage, indicating that the measures included burying the irregular openings and removing the encroachments crossing the shore, in addition to cleaning the streams and dredging the rivers. And others, stressing the continuation of work to deliver water to remote agricultural areas, especially villages that have suffered from scarcity.
He added that the engineering and technical personnel of the Directorate are continuing with the work of foundations and the roof for the pumps and construction works with bricks and cement mortar at the site of the Najjariya station in the Saliyya district and the application of marashnah in many streams, including Masouma, Al-Nouriya and others, pointing out that they have greatly benefited from the abundance of rain that the region has witnessed during the last period. .
