The head of the National State Forces Alliance, Ammar al-Hakim, confirmed today, Friday, that the future cannot be mortgaged to fluctuating oil prices, pointing out that the behavior of some governors distorted the experience, which created an excuse to restore powers to the center.
During his meeting with the local government in Muthanna, which he arrived today, Al-Hakim stressed “the importance of local governments and we cited the percentages of their achievements,” noting that “most of the lagging projects are ministerial projects,” stressing “granting powers to the local government in compliance with the constitution and the principle of decentralization, as the people of Mecca know best about its people, and we called on us to change the stereotypical state of affairs.” Local governments.
He pointed out, “There are those who intentionally thwarted the transfer of powers to local governments when they sent the powers without instructions, training, and preparation, and the behaviors of some governors distorted the experience, which created an excuse to restore powers to the benefit of the center, and that the issue contains a lot of injustice when local governments are compared as a young experiment to ministries.” It is more than 100 years old, and in this context we called for the protection of the governorates’ powers and for there to be a pause in cooperation with local governments to restore rights.”
Al-Hakim also stressed “providing services and investing in the presence of the coordination framework forces in local governments, and the importance of cooperation and staying away from political conflict, as people turn to the political forces after the successes of the government, which achieved popular satisfaction, which was reflected positively on the political forces supporting it,” pointing to “the relationship between services and satisfaction.” Regarding the political system, local governments are in the line of defense, and we stressed the importance of proper planning, priorities, and timing.”
He also called for "referring projects to reputable companies to complete them with high quality and acceptable costs, and the importance of accompanying the project with a timetable for work, completion, what has passed, and what remains. We praised the investment environment in Muthanna and the provision of its appropriate atmosphere, which made it a destination for investors."
He stressed "the necessity of completing lagging local and ministerial projects to avoid extinction and double losses. We called for attention to strategic projects, including the Jemima port, which changes the reality of the governorate. We also highlighted the importance of the development road and its contribution to the development of Al-Muthanna Governorate."
He called for "investing the desert of Samawah and Rehab Al-Muthanna, and we expressed our happiness to invest some of this large strategic reserve in the governorate, and work is required to transform it into a tourist and economic station."
He also called on “tribal sheikhs to contribute to societal peace, and we stressed confronting drugs and their frightening spread, which is a major challenge that everyone must face, and the necessity of distinguishing between traffickers and drug users, as the latter is sick and needs a sanatorium while the former is a criminal who needs to be imprisoned, and mixing them turns the drug user into traffickers.” We also called on us to invest in political and security calm and societal harmony by providing services.”
He stated that "our visit to Muthanna comes within the framework of communicating with our people in the governorates, learning about the conditions of the governorate, and contributing to solving its problems."
