Al-Shammari said during a joint conference with Al-Rahmoun, attended by Al-Sumaria, that “a memorandum was signed on security cooperation between the two countries, especially in the field of combating drugs, extraditing wanted persons, and combating money laundering and organized crime,” noting that “all these paragraphs will enter into force soon.”

For his part, Syrian Interior Minister Muhammad al-Rahmoun said, "The meeting witnessed a discussion of ways of cooperation in all fields, especially security and combating terrorism," pointing out that "there is a criminal phenomenon carried out by drug dealers and human trafficking gangs."

Al-Rahmoun added, “We signed a memorandum between the two countries to combat crimes and cybersecurity,” pointing out that “this cooperation previously existed in combating drugs and other matters.”
