The files of the 1991 Gulf War appear publicly for the first time.. This is what Saddam Hussein did to the British in Iraq

Documents revealed today, Friday, that Saddam Hussein's regime committed 2,000 war crimes against the British in the wake of Iraq's invasion of Kuwait in 1990, a report that has been kept secret for 30 years.
According to the American daily mail report and its translation (Baghdad Today), “the records released in the British National Archives show the extent to which those who were captured by the dictator’s forces during the Gulf War were killed and tortured – most of them civilians.”
The documents also revealed that "some of them were subjected to electric shocks to the head and testicles, and were severely beaten with sticks."
The report, compiled by investigators of the Special Branch of the Royal Military Police in 1992, explained that "there is compelling evidence of systematic violations of the Geneva Convention by Iraq, where 1,373 Britons were taken hostage, including 556 used as human shields, and more than 300 Of those, they were on a British Airways flight that landed in Kuwait when Saddam invaded.
Last month, Foreign Secretary Liz Truss apologized, admitting that "ministers were aware of the invasion but did not tell British Airways to divert the plane."
Several of those on board claim that “the flight was not interrupted because it was carrying a special forces intelligence-gathering team. Eight detainees held as human shields died as a result of being treated from heart attacks or suicide, after their release.”
The report pointed out that investigators from the Sand Castle Command conducted interviews with 1,868 witnesses and took 725 other statements, and found that 1,944 crimes were committed against British nationals and 1,506 other crimes against people of other nationalities.
The report concluded that "there is significant and convincing evidence of the systematic and serious violations of the Fourth Geneva Convention designed to protect civilians during war committed by the Iraqi authorities and their collaborators against the personal and property rights of British subjects."
The report also clarifies the details of the severe beating of five prisoners of the Special Forces, who were subjected to indiscriminate and unjustified assault by their guards.
Although such attacks sometimes occurred during interrogation, it is clear that the beatings were intended to break the soldiers' morale and their will to resist, and not by torture to extract specific information, according to the Sand Castle memo.
