    Information/Baghdad.
    The former Minister of Electricity, Louay Al-Khatib, revealed, on Friday, the extent of the US intervention in the file of power generation in Iraq, indicating that the US embassy is exerting direct pressure on the government to contract with General Electric.
     Al-Khatib said in a televised interview, which was followed by "The Information", that "there were dictations from the American embassy to contract with General Electric ."
     He added, " The energy sector in Iraq needs stability , and  electricity needs daily 29 million liters of fuel   , and gas burning is due to the reluctance to invest in energy projects ."
     Al-Khatib added that "the government of Haider al-Abadi signed memoranda of understanding, not contracts with Siemens, due to American pressures to contract with the American General Company." Ended 25 D
