Biden stresses u.s. commitment to partnership with Iraq

US Vice President Joe Biden, America's continued commitment in partnership with Iraq.

The
White House issued a statement which said Biden's entry to the meeting,
national security adviser Anthony blinken Iraqi counterpart Faleh,
reaffirmed "the commitment of the United States and ongoing partnership
with Iraq under Iraqi strategic framework agreement."

The research focused on regional developments and joint Iraqi and US interests in peace and stability in the region. "

He
explained that this meeting was the latest in a series of intense and
permanent consultations between the United States and Iraq on a range of
issues of strategic importance.

America and Iraq discuss peace and security in the region

News / U.S. Vice President, Joe Biden confirmed on Thursday, on
committing to the "partnership" between the United States and Iraq ,
stressing the importance of the strategic framework agreement signed
between the two countries.

The U.S. embassy in Baghdad quoted in a
statement in which "Shafaq News" received a copy of it, a statement
issued by the spokesman of the National Security Council, Tommy Vietor
on the meetings of deputy national security adviser, Tony Blinken with
the Iraqi delegation stating, "U.S. Vice President, Biden joined meeting
held by Deputy U.S. National Security Adviser, Tony Blinken with Iraq's
national security adviser, Faleh al-Fayad.”

The statement
explained that, "The vice president expressed the United States' deep
partnership commitment with Iraq under the strategic framework agreement
signed between them," adding that "the talks focused on the regional
developments and common interest between the United States and Iraq in
peace and security in the region.”

"This meeting is considered
the newest in a series of periodic and intensive consultations taking
place between the two countries on the overall issues of common
interest," noting, "Both Vice President Biden and Deputy National
Security Advisor, Blinken and Iraqi National Security Adviser, Faleh
al-Fayad agreed that next year would witness providing opportunities
that contribute in expanding and deepening cooperation between the
United States and Iraq,” the statement added.

The strategic
framework agreement signed by the U.S. and Iraqi governments before the
withdrawal of U.S. troops from Iraq at the end of 2011; included items
that both countries must commit with in security and economic, health,
cultural affairs as well as other activities.
