Shafaq News/ The President of the Kurdistan Region, Nechirvan Barzani, discussed today, Wednesday, with a high-level American delegation, the political and economic conditions in Iraq and the region, and stressed the support of the head of the federal government, Muhammad Shia' al-Sudani, to implement his government's agenda.
And in a statement of the region's presidency received by Shafaq News agency, it was stated that Barzani met this afternoon, a senior American delegation headed by the Special Assistant to the President of the United States and Senior Director for the Middle East and North Africa in the National Security Council Terry Wolf, and his accompanying delegation, and during the meeting they discussed the political situation And economic affairs in Iraq and the Kurdistan Region and exchange views on the relations between Erbil and Baghdad and the problems that afflict the relationship between them.
He added that the American delegation reaffirmed the continued support and cooperation of the United States for Iraq and the Kurdistan Region, noting that with regard to the internal situation in the Kurdistan Region, the American delegation considered that the unity of the Kurdish political forces, led by the Kurdistan Democratic Party and the Patriotic Union of Kurdistan, is necessary to overcome the current challenges in Iraq. and Kurdistan Region.
The statement noted that in another issue of the meeting, the two sides agreed that resolving the problems of Erbil and Baghdad would help stabilize the political and economic situation in Iraq and the Kurdistan Region, and stressed the support of the Iraqi federal prime minister, Muhammad Shia al-Sudani, and his government's agenda.
He added that the meeting dealt with a number of other issues, including discussing the situation in the region in general and some of the most important issues of common concern.
