    Baghdad today - Baghdad
The Parliamentary Finance Committee announced that the draft budget had not reached the committee for the purpose of reading it, ruling out a change in its allocations approved by the government.
Committee member Mustafa Al-Karawi told (Baghdad Today) that: "The budget will be passed without delay, and the expenditures that have arrived in it are necessary for the government, and therefore there is no initial intention to cut."
He explained, "The value of the budget may be apparently high, but the Sudanese government, when it sent it, believed that it was in line with the government program, and therefore its amounts will remain approximately as they arrived, but some amounts may be transferred between some of its sections."
He pointed out, "The size of the sums in the budget, which amounts to 200 trillion dinars, may be passed without change."
It is noteworthy that the government handed the House of Representatives last Thursday the draft law for the three budgets 2023, 2024 and 2025.
The Council of Ministers approved "the total budget amounting to more than 197 trillion dinars, based on the price of oil at 70 dollars, including more than 150 trillion dinars for operating expenses and more than 47 trillion for investment, while the deficit amounted to 63 trillion dinars."
As for the total revenues in the budget, it exceeds 134 trillion dinars, including 117 trillion dinars (oil revenues) and 17 trillion dinars non-oil revenues.
