Prime Minister Muhammad Shia al-Sudani attributed, during his presidency, yesterday, Wednesday, a meeting of the Committee for the Localization of Salaries and the Unified Treasury Account, the cause of many cases of corruption, most notably the "theft of the century" to the failure to implement the unified treasury account, warning that the continuation of the current situation makes the state unaware of its balances and accounts.
A statement by the Prime Minister’s Media Office stated that Al-Sudani listened in the meeting, which was attended by the Governor of the Central Bank of Iraq, the Minister of Finance, the Prime Minister’s advisors, the general managers of the Rafidain, Al-Rasheed and Al-Iraqi Trade Banks, and the representative of the Federal Office of Financial Supervision, to “a briefing by the Minister of Finance about the ministry’s procedures regarding the public treasury system.” The unified process, the process of nationalizing the salaries of state employees, and the procedures related to the application of the electronic payment points (POS) system.
The Prime Minister said: “The delay in implementing the unified treasury account during the past years has caused many cases of corruption and abuse of public money, the latest of which was the crime of stealing tax guarantee funds (theft of the century),” stressing “the need to address the matter by applying the unified treasury system.” to reduce corruption.”
He pointed out that "the continuation of the current situation makes the state not aware of the amount of its assets and accounts or the number of its employees," usually, "everyone who works to obstruct this project contributes to covering up corruption."
Al-Sudani directed to "accelerate the preparation of new standards, including the largest number of electronic payment companies, which number about 16, and to contract with companies that provide better services at lower costs."
And he instructed to "form a committee of representatives of ministries, governorates, and government banks, to install electronic payment points (POS), in all institutions, and to seek the help of international and foreign expertise to support the project and encourage citizens to adopt it and deal financially through it."
The Prime Minister had announced, during his visit to Wasit Governorate, yesterday, Wednesday, the launch of the marketing season for wheat and barley crops in Wasit, and the opening of the first part of the Hawally road to the city of Kut. 
Al-Sudani said, in a speech during the launch of the wheat and barley marketing season in Wasit: "Supporting agriculture is not a luxury," noting that "the government is facing an existential crisis and the crisis of securing food for the people."
He continued, "The government began its work at the beginning of the agricultural season, and the agricultural plan presented to it was about 4.5 million dunums, in light of the conditions of water scarcity facing the region and Iraq," explaining that "the areas of the agricultural plan were distributed on irrigated lands only, and other regions depend on On artesian wells, and after the current rainy season, the agricultural plan exceeded 7.5 million dunums in all governorates.
He added, "Farmers suffer from the problem of timing their supply of fertilizers, due to decisions restricting their import, and a decision was taken by the Council of Ministers to lift this restriction for the private sector to import fertilizers," pointing out that "the security determinants of fertilizer imports have been addressed, and we have overcome this problem, which was causing Raising the price of fertilizer and its impact on farmers.
He stressed that "there is an effort by the Ministry of Industry to operate the full production capacity of factories, whether they are managed by the ministry or operated by investment with the private sector," pointing out that "the Wasit Governorate plan is about 900 thousand dunums for wheat, and about 120 thousand dunums for barley, and the decision of the Council of Ministers It was included inside and outside the agricultural plan, because wheat and barley are important strategic crops for food security.
And he stated that "the government noticed in these areas a clear weakness in the use of the sprinkler irrigation system in the governorate, and of the total of these areas there are 1445 dunums that use sprinkler irrigation systems and the use of wells at about 6422 dunums, in light of the water scarcity that is the most prominent in the history of Iraq," noting that " Sprinkler irrigation methods are not only a treatment for water scarcity, but the best way to increase productivity
