A source in the Ministry of Finance and Economy in the Kurdistan Regional Government stated that a delegation from the Kurdistan Regional Government is scheduled to visit the Iraqi capital, Baghdad, today, Monday, to hold meetings with the Iraqi side regarding financial issues and files between the two sides.
The source added that the delegation includes a number of officials in the Council of Ministers, and general managers in the Ministry of Finance and Economy, and they will begin tomorrow, Tuesday, a series of meetings with their counterparts in the Federal Ministry of Finance.
Explaining that the meetings will focus on a number of problems related to the budget files, salaries, and unifying retirees' salaries.
The visit comes a few days after the Federal Ministerial Council for the Economy and the Kurdistan Regional Economic Council held a joint meeting in the capital, Erbil, on September 8-9.
The meeting, according to an official statement, discussed a number of issues of common interest between the federal government and the Kurdistan Regional Government, noting that the atmosphere was positive and frank in addressing these issues, and some of them were addressed by immediate decisions taken in the meeting, while others were addressed by recommending them to the federal cabinet, with emphasis on continuing dialogues to address issues that require more meetings and dialogues.
