The Minister of Displacement and Migration Iraqi Jassim Mohammed, said on Saturday that 200 000 Iraqi families have migrated to Europe, as he emphasized the return of 600 people, including through Turkey on a voluntary basis.
Jassim Mohammed said in an interview to the (long-Presse), "The number of Iraqi families that migrated to Europe from approaching 200 thousand families," noting that "the ministry in cooperation with the Iraqi Ministry of Foreign Affairs was able to voluntarily return 600 people."
He said Mohammed, that "the return of these people have been through Turkish territory", stressing that "there are other numbers you want to return from Europe to Iraq," pointing out that "the ministry is working with the State Department to bring them back."
The past few months have seen the migration of nearly half a million Iraqis, nearly 70% of them are young people, as a result of the deteriorating situation in the country, and most of the immigrants have their way through Turkey and from there to European countries.
