Armed Forces Chief of Staff Haidar al-Abadi on Thursday discussed with British Army Chief of Staff Stuart Beige the importance of continuing international efforts to combat terrorism.
"The commander-in-chief of the armed forces received in his office today the chief of staff of the British army and his accompanying delegation," a statement from the office of al-Abadi said.
The statement added that "during the meeting, they discussed strengthening military cooperation between the two countries, the war against gangs and the terrorist threat, and the importance of continuing international efforts in the fight against terrorism."
For his part, Stoart conveyed "congratulations to Britain on the victories achieved on the support and liberation of Mosul and stand with Iraq and its unity and continued support to complete the liberation of the remaining areas." Ending / 25
