Parliamentary warns against not approving the amendment of the parliamentary elections law within the specified period

    10/08/2017

MP warned of the parliamentary change bloc Mahmoud Reza, on Thursday, the consequences of the failure to approve the amendment of the law of parliamentary elections in the specified period, indicating that the failure to approve the law and the selection of a new electoral commission leads to enter the country in a constitutional crisis.
Reza said in a press statement that "the failure to approve the amendment of the election law on the date set by the Electoral Commission, six months before it leads to a major constitutional crisis," noting that "the Commission informed the parliament that it is unable to hold elections only after the amendment of the law."
Reza added that "Parliament and the Commission is bound by the constitutional dates of the parliamentary elections next year and can not be postponed at all," noting that "the parliament so far has not resolved the names of the candidates for the Commission as the end of the life of the former Commission, which means that there is a new crisis facing the elections."
