NEW YORK (Reuters) - Many failures in sophisticated uranium enrichment devices have inadvertently helped Iran comply with the nuclear deal, a Washington-based research group said, adding that Washington's hardline policy had pushed Tehran toward greater commitment.
According to a report by the Institute for Science and International Security (ISIS) to be released on Friday, the improvement in Tehran's commitment this year was to some extent "unintentional or accidental," as advanced uranium enrichment devices known as centrifuges were disrupted during tests and at a faster pace than expected, "He said.
The report said that by August Iran had tested eight advanced centrifuges (IR-8), although the agreement is not allowed to more than one experiment, adding that Iran has also operated between 13 and 15 of the devices R-6) are connected to each other, although the agreement allows only 10 devices.
However, the report noted that all but one of the KIR-8 devices and most ER-6s had been disrupted by an industrial failure represented by an imbalance in carbon fiber components.
    Trump 's tough policy
David Albright, a former UN nuclear inspector and author of the new report, said Tehran's commitment was also due to the administration of US President Donald Trump pursuing a tougher approach to Iran's attempts to "violate nuclear restrictions and exploit loopholes."
The report comes as Trump is considering whether he will confirm to Congress that Iran is in compliance with the 2015 agreement and has a deadline of October 16 to make a decision.
Two sources, including a senior US official, said on Wednesday that the White House does not want to eliminate the agreement, according to the agency "Reuters".
Instead, the White House wants members of Congress to stop taking action while discussing with European allies the restrictions on Iran's permanent program and reforming what US officials see as other shortcomings, the two sources said, declining to be named.
    Expected Iranian Violations
The report of the research institution concluded that "it is possible to expect Iran to continue to push the limits of agreement and commit violations and seek unfounded interpretations ... One must expect many conflicts to keep Iran within the framework of nuclear restrictions throughout the agreement."
In a report released in November 2016, the institute said Iran had exceeded some of the deal's limitations, such as its own heavy water stockpile used in nuclear reactors, but that some irregularities or exemptions were made when President Barack Obama was in office, Implementation in January 2016.
In its new report, the Institute listed other problems related to Iran's commitment to the nuclear agreement, including changes in the design of a heavy-water reactor capable of producing plutonium, another fuel for weapons.
