- A former New York high school teacher and his brother were arrested by US authorities on Thursday and charged with trying to assemble an explosive device after an investigation by the FBI.

According to the criminal complaint and a press release issued by the Ministry of Justice, former teacher Christian Toro and his brother Tyler Toro, 27, have stockpiled bomb-making materials in their apartment in the Bronx district of the city.

During the inspection of the brothers' apartment, the security found a backpack with a card reading: "When the moon is complete, the young will know terrorism."

The complaint said Christian Toro was a teacher at a high school in Harlem, Manhattan, before resigning last year. When he left his job, Tyler Toro returned to school a computer he had previously given to his brother and found security evidence of the manufacturing of IEDs.

According to the complaint, investigators said Christian Toro told them he had found bomb-making instructions when he was searching for the 2013 Boston Marathon and never read or make a bomb.

According to the complaint, a week later, the interrogators interviewed students at the sister school, noting that at least two of the school's students received about $ 50 an hour in exchange for dismantling fireworks and storing the powder for the two men.

The complaint also found that the defendants' apartment was found on potassium nitrate, a black powder known as explosive, as well as metal balls and components used to make bombs.

Manhattan prosecutor Jeffrey Berman said a federal court in Manhattan had charged Christian Toro with manufacturing an explosive device in violation of the law and giving explosive materials to a minor. Tyler Toro was accused of manufacturing an explosive device in violation of the law.
