    A draft resolution submitted by Britain, the United States and France called on the UN Security Council to condemn Iran for its failure to prevent the arrival of ballistic missiles by the Houthis.

    Diplomats said the draft resolution, which includes renewing UN sanctions on Yemen for an additional year, would allow the council to restrict "any activity related to the use of ballistic missiles in Yemen."

    According to the sources, Britain prepared the draft resolution in consultation with the United States and France before being presented to the plenary on Friday.

    To approve the draft, nine votes must be approved and Russia, China, the United States, France or Britain should not use veto power.

    "Since the signing of the nuclear agreement, the Iranian regime's support for terrorist groups has increased markedly and its rockets and sophisticated weapons have begun to appear in war zones throughout the Middle East," US Ambassador to the United Nations Nicky Healy wrote in a New York Times article.

    The Security Council is considering condemning Iran for using the Houthis for its missiles
    WASHINGTON (Reuters) - Britain, the United States and France want the UN Security Council to condemn Iran for failing to prevent its ballistic missiles from reaching Yemen's Houthi group and to take action on sanctions violations, a US draft resolution said.
    Reuters quoted diplomats as saying that the draft resolution to renew UN sanctions on Yemen for another year would also allow the 15-member council to impose sanctions against "any activity related to the use of ballistic missiles in Yemen."
    Diplomats said Britain prepared the draft resolution in consultation with the United States and France before it was presented to the full House on Friday. The administration of President Donald Trump has been pressing for months to hold Iran accountable to the United Nations while threatening to withdraw from a 2015 agreement Major reduction of Iran's nuclear program unless "catastrophic defects" are corrected.
    The eight soldiers of the forces of Yemeni President Abed Rabbo Mansour Hadi were killed Saturday by gunmen of Ansar Allah "Huthis" in the province of Marib, northeast of Yemen.
