announced that the US Department of Defense ( Pentagon ), on Thursday, that came in a letter of Russian President Vladimir Putin on nuclear weapons was not a surprise for her.

"We are not surprised by these comments, and the American people have to be certain that we are fully prepared," Pentagon spokeswoman Dana White said.

"US missile defense systems are not aimed at Russia , and Russia knows that very well, " White said, stressing that "US missile defense is directed against rogue states.

"We must ensure that we have the means of nuclear deterrence, and we are convinced that we are ready to protect our country, whatever the danger," she said.

"The United States will not change its nuclear doctrine after the remarks of the Russian president," she said, adding that "these weapons (Russian) have been designed for a long time.

This came after Russian President Vladimir Putin in his annual letter to the Federal Assembly on modern weapons designed in Russia, and stressed that his country is developing its strategic capabilities in response to the withdrawal of the United States from the Treaty on missile defense and deployment elements of its missile defense system near the Russian border .
