    [ltr]Kazakhstan's Foreign Ministry has confirmed that the US delegation will not participate in the ninth round of the Astana negotiations on Syria, which began Monday in the Kazakh capital Astana.[/ltr]
    [ltr]"The United States delegation declined to participate in the current round of Astana negotiations on Syria," Foreign Ministry spokesman Anwar Jainakov told reporters Monday.[/ltr]
    [ltr]For his part, Alexander Lavrentev, the special envoy of the Russian President for the settlement in Syria, considered that Washington's refusal to participate in the Astana negotiations means not to support the efforts of the international community to settle the Syrian crisis peacefully.[/ltr]
