Tehran announces dismantling of two armed groups on the border with Iraq

Iranian intelligence announced on Tuesday the dismantling of two armed groups near the border with Iraq.
"Iranian security forces dismantled two terrorist groups during two separate security operations in the west of the country," Iranian intelligence minister Mahmoud Allou said, according to the Mehr news agency.
The Minister stated that one of the two groups had 12 persons associated with "terrorist organizations", all of whom were arrested.
In another operation, a group that was planning attacks was dismantled. The minister confirmed the death of two and the arrest of two other members of the group.
Alawi pointed out that the two operations were carried out in the provinces of Kurdistan and Kermanshah. The two groups were supported from abroad by hostile countries he did not mention.
According to the minister, members of one of the two groups were involved in the assassination of a senior police officer in the city of Rwanser in Kermanshah province mid-month.
