The President of the House of Representatives Mohamed Halboussi received Thomas Parais, Minister of State for Economic and Energy Affairs of the Federal Republic of Germany, and his accompanying delegation.
At the beginning of the meeting, the visiting delegation, on behalf of German Chancellor Angela Merkel, congratulated Halabousi on his election as Speaker of the House of Representatives and wished him and the members of the Council success in carrying out their duties.
The meeting discussed ways to create the appropriate legislative conditions to support cooperation between Iraq and Germany in the energy, water and health sectors.
President of the House of Representatives the price of the great role of Germany in support of Iraq at all levels, calling for more fruitful cooperation between the two countries and contribute to meet the basic needs of the Iraqi citizen.
For his part, the German delegation stressed the keenness of Berlin to strengthen bilateral cooperation with Iraq and the readiness of German companies to exploit the investment opportunities available in it.
