[size=16] MP Alaa al-Rubaie said on Friday that the past few days proved the inability of Prime Minister Adel Abdul-Mahdi to nominate an independent figure for the Ministry of Education, while calling for merging the ministry with the Ministry of Higher Education.
"The last stage proved that the prime minister is unable to nominate an independent and competent figure capable of managing the Ministry of Education as a result of the political conflict sometimes and sometimes the candidate is not eligible," Rubaie said in a statement received by Mawazine News.
He added that "the survival of education without a minister over the past period directly affected the performance of the ministry and this is evident after the announcement of the results of the exams of the third average recently."
He pointed out that "the differences and political differences still exist until this moment and there are no positive indicators to resolve this file soon, and there are convictions are mounting on the merger of the Ministry of Education with the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research."[/size]
