The President of the Republic receives a call from the Italian Prime Minister

The President of the Republic, Dr. Barham Salih, received a phone call from Italian Prime Minister Giuseppe Conte.
During the phone call, [You must be registered and logged in to see this link.] in the Middle East region and the international position on them were discussed .
The Italian Prime Minister affirmed his country's keenness on the stability and sovereignty of Iraq and the importance of international support for it, stressing the need for restraint and preventing tension in the region.
For his part, the President of the Republic indicated that Iraq respects its international pledges and appreciates the position of the international community in combating terrorism, stressing that terrorist gangs still represent a threat to Iraq, the region and the world.
He added that international efforts must be continued at all levels to dry up the sources of terrorism, pointing out that political and security tensions in the country and the region do not serve those efforts, once again emphasizing Iraq’s keenness to be an arena and a pillar of peace and regional and international consensus, not a scene of conflicts.
