BAGHDAD (AFP) - Iraqi Prime Minister Nuri al-Maliki Wednesday rejected by the formation of a national salvation government at a time when the country is witnessing a major offensive to armed extremists, alluding to his commitment to continue his quest to stay at the head of the government for a third term. Maliki said in his weekly "not serious hidden targets to form a national salvation government, as they call it an attempt by the rebels to the Constitution to eliminate the fledgling democratic experiment and the confiscation of the views of the voters." And exposed the prime minister, who has ruled the country since 2006, to widespread criticism and faces charges of marginalizing the Sunnis and the monopoly of rule by his political opponents, who are demanding the "National Alliance" the largest coalition of Shiite parties, the nomination of another politician for prime minister. But al-Maliki insists on eligibility in the formation of the next government on the grounds that the bloc led won the largest number of seats in parliament compared to the regulations other in elections in April last year, noting that the statute in 2010, did not get the largest number of votes, but he served as prime minister for four years at the time. Waging militants organization "Islamic State in Iraq and the Levant" and regulations Sunni extremist another attack since more than two weeks took control in which large areas in the north of Iraq and the west and east, including major cities such as Mosul (350 km) north of Baghdad, Tikrit (160 km north of Baghdad). He said the organization "Islamic State in Iraq and the Levant," the most powerful radical Islamic groups fighting in Iraq and Syria, its intention to crawl toward Baghdad and the provinces of Karbala and Najaf, both of which have Shiite shrines. Al-Maliki announced today that government forces "were able to open the roads connecting bin provinces and the liberalization of the cities and the process is ongoing to liberate all the cities," he said, adding, "We are confident that our armed forces are not able to achieve such great achievements without the support of reference," the Shiite holy city of Najaf.
