    The Ministry of Construction, Housing and Public Municipalities announced, on Thursday, that the number of important projects in the roads and bridges sector that it has completed and those that will soon be completed has reached 16, while confirming that it will start during the next few period with four similar ones.
    The Director-General of the Roads and Bridges Department in the ministry, Hussein Jassim Kazim, said in a statement seen by "The Information", that "the five important projects that the ministry accomplished in the roads and bridges sector, including the maintenance and rehabilitation project of the (Najaf-Diwaniyah) road, the Mahmoudiyah detour, and parts of the (Kut) road. Building), in addition to the completion of the third Fallujah bridges, and the employees on the highway in Anbar Governorate.
    As for the 11 projects that are currently underway and will be completed soon, he said that they “include the rehabilitation works of the (Balad - Dujail) road, which has not been rehabilitated for three decades, and will be completed by the end of this year, in addition to the continuation of the rehabilitation of (Ramadi - Heet - Haditha) road. With a length of 36 km, the construction work of the Al-Mamoun Bridge on the Euphrates River in Anbar Governorate has reached its final stages and will open within the next two months.
    He added that "there are five projects to construct different bridges in Anbar, which were destroyed by ISIS terrorists, and their completion rates have reached 90 percent, and they will be completed within the next few period," noting that "the repair work of Mosul's fourth and fifth bridges is continuing despite the great technical difficulties, and they will be opened within first quarter of next year.
    And regarding the four projects that will be implemented during the next few period, Kazem explained that they “include works to expose the road linking (the highway – Diwaniyah entrance) towards Samawah and will start next month, and the construction of the Haditha concrete bridge in Anbar Governorate, as well as the maintenance of some sections of the road leading to the port. Arar borderline in the same governorate.” As for the direct construction of the sixth bridge project and its approaches in Mosul, he indicated that “it will be completed soon, after the approval of the Prime Minister.” finished/25
