Shafaq News/ The Central Bank's auction of the dollar witnessed, on Wednesday, sales of more than 200 million dollars.
Shafak News Agency reporter stated, "The Central Bank's sales today, during its auction for buying and selling US dollars, amounted to 218 million and 256 thousand and 98 US dollars, covered by the bank at a base exchange rate of 1460 dinars per dollar.
Our correspondent added that foreign remittances during today's auction amounted to 158 million and 506 thousand and 98 dollars, compared to cash sales, which amounted to 59 million and 750 thousand dollars.
Our correspondent indicated that 28 banks have responded to requests to enhance balances abroad, and 21 banks have responded to cash requests, in addition to 285 mediation companies.
