    The Ministry of Water Resources revealed today, Saturday, Iraqi-Turkish negotiations to resolve the water file during the next month.
    A spokesman for the Ministry of Water Resources, Ali Radi told the Iraqi News Agency (INA): "There will be meetings with the Turkish side to negotiate the water file," noting that "during the next month, there will be an important visit by the special envoy of Turkish President Faysal Araoglu to Baghdad aimed at discussing about Three main axes, including the focus of discussion on Iraq's share of water, stressing that "Iraq will seek to secure a fair water share according to its entitlements."
    He added that "the second axis will focus on the ongoing research center between Iraq and Turkey, where all logistical matters have been completed on the part of Iraq, and it will be a joint research center between Iraq and Turkey, and its management will be jointly between the two countries. As for the third axis, the sharing of damage will be discussed in periods of water scarcity with the presence of changes In addition to discussions to discuss the operational plan of Turkish dams for the summer season and all seasons, and this step is good for determining future plans to ensure Iraq's water rights.
    He pointed out that "these topics that will be discussed will be of great importance to ensuring Iraq's water rights," noting that "the water situation in Iraq is going through the difficult conditions that the world in general and the region in particular is going through as a result of the significant impact of climate change."
    He pointed out that "Iraq was classified as one of the five countries in the world most affected by these changes, as it is a downstream country in terms of its geographical location, and also the upstream countries were affected by the changes, as this spring period is considered a period of melting snow and it is assumed that the rates of revenues will be high, but the rains have affected and led to a lack of revenues The water, which was hoped to rise to a higher level than is now achieved.
    And he indicated that "the percentage of water in dams and reservoirs is part of the programs and plans that meet all human and environmental requirements and uses, including the Shatt al-Arab in Basra," noting that "during this period, we will notice a decrease in the levels of the Tigris and Euphrates rivers, especially in Baghdad and some areas, and this decline is studied." Within the plans of the Ministry of Water Resources.
    With regard to the agricultural plan, he explained that "there are many meetings that will hopefully be held during the coming period with the Ministry of Agriculture and the ministries concerned with approving the summer agricultural plan for the next season, according to the data, water storage, revenues and the nature of the water year," stressing that "the meetings will continue to come up with the final formula." .
