Al-Zamili on the "violations" of Turkey and Iran: They have been repeated recently, taking advantage of Iraq's weakness
Shafaq News/ Hakim Al-Zamili, First Deputy Speaker of Parliament, said on Sunday that Turkey and Iran are taking advantage of Iraq's weakness to launch attacks and military operations on the country's territory.
This came in his speech during an expanded meeting held by Parliament this morning to discuss the Turkish and Iranian attacks on Iraq, in the presence of Foreign Minister Fouad Hussein, and Nizar Al-Khair Allah, the senior agent of the ministry.
In the speech that started the meeting and was attended by Shafak News Agency correspondent, Al-Zamili said that the member of the Foreign Relations Committee and the head of the Sadrist bloc, Hassan Al-Adhari, submitted a request that includes the signatures of more than 50 deputies to inquire about the repeated violations that occur by neighboring countries, especially Turkey and Iran.
He added that these violations began to be repeated recently, taking advantage of Iraq's weakness.
In turn, Hassan Al-Adhari said during the hosting session, that there have been frequent attacks on Iraqi lands by neighboring countries recently, and this exposes the country to danger and puts Iraqi diplomacy in embarrassment.
He added, "We ask the minister what are Iraq's measures regarding the attacks, and what is the truth about the existence of an agreement between Iraq and Turkey that allows Turkish forces to incur an incursion of 30 kg into Iraqi territory, and when was it signed?"
On April 18, Turkey launched the "claw-lock" operation against the anti-Ankara Kurdistan Workers' Party (PKK) in the areas of Matina, Zab and Afshin-Basian in the Kurdistan Region.
Last March, Erbil, the capital of the Kurdistan Region, was attacked by the Iranian Revolutionary Guards with 12 "long-range" ballistic missiles, launched from outside the Iraqi borders, and landed in the vicinity of the American consulate and Kurdistan 24 station in the Salah al-Din resort, which resulted in Physical damage to buildings and homes.
