Nechirvan Barzani: The key to the solution to Iraq's problems is to end the differences between Erbil and Baghdad
Shafaq News/ The President of Kurdistan Region, Nechirvan Barzani stressed on Tuesday that solving problems with Baghdad is the key to solving all problems in Iraq.
A statement by the presidency of the region was received by Shafak News Agency; That came during the reception of the President of the Kurdistan Region, this Thursday morning, a delegation from the French-Iraqi Friendship Committee in the French Senate headed by Mrs. Nicole Nornton and the membership of a number of members of the committee and the French Consul General in the Kurdistan Region.
The statement added that during the meeting, the guest delegation reiterated France's support for the Kurdistan Region and Iraq, expressing thanks and appreciation for the sacrifices of the Peshmerga and their role in defeating ISIS.
According to the statement; President Nechirvan Barzani renewed the expression of Kurdistan Region's thanks and appreciation to France for its military, humanitarian and political support to the Kurdistan Region and Iraq, and expressed his pleasure for the delegation's visit to the Kurdistan Region, referring to the friendship and deep-rooted relations between the Kurdistan Region and France.
On the Iraqi situation, President Nechirvan Barzani stressed that solving the problems between Erbil and Baghdad is the key to resolving Iraq's problems, pointing to the importance of the role of the international community and France in particular in helping Iraq solve its problems.
The statement pointed out that "the latest developments in the political process in Iraq, the situation in the Sinjar region and the constitutional Article 140 areas, the threat of terrorism, ISIS operations and threats, the situation in Syria and the region in general, formed other axes for the meeting."
