Al-Amiri calls on Al-Sadr to refrain from the recent recordings attributed to Al-Maliki
Shafaq News/ Hadi al-Amiri, head of the "Fatah" coalition, one of the leaders of the coordination framework, called on Wednesday, the leader of the Sadrist movement, Muqtada al-Sadr, to refrain from the audio recordings attributed to the leader of the State of Law coalition, Nuri al-Maliki.
Al-Amiri said in a speech today during the 13th Al-Ghadeer International Media Festival held in Baghdad, "I call on Mr. Muqtada Al-Sadr to rise above the last recordings and he is qualified for that," adding that "these recordings are intended to divide and destabilize, and represent the decadent media, we have become thirsty." To restore the lost credibility in the media, literature and art in all its forms.
He went on to say, "The speedy selection of the presidents of the republic and the ministers represent urgent demands to restore stability and restore the prestige of the state."
He added, "They are serious about resolving the prime minister's file to complete the rest of the constitutional entitlements and expedite the formation of the government," referring to the coordination framework that confirms his progress in forming the government after the Sadrist movement withdrew from the political process in Iraq.
This development comes in the midst of a dispute that escalated when audio recordings attributed to the leader of the State of Law coalition, Nuri al-Maliki, were spread, in which he strongly attacked Muqtada al-Sadr, the popular crowd, leaders and political currents.
Although al-Maliki's office denied the accuracy of these recordings, Muqtada al-Sadr issued a strongly worded response, calling on al-Maliki to quit political work or surrender himself to the Iraqi judiciary.
The political scene in Iraq is already tense with the passage of ten months since the formation of the government faltered, due to differences between al-Sadr and leaders in the coordination framework led by al-Maliki, which called on the Sadrist movement to withdraw with political action, giving the formation of the government to the framework.
