    [size=45]The Prime Minister of the Kurdistan Regional Government, Masrour Barzani, received, on Wednesday, the US Assistant Secretary of State for Middle Eastern Affairs, Barbara Leaf.[/size]
    [size=45]In the meeting, they discussed ways to strengthen relations between the Kurdistan Region and the United States, as well as the latest developments in the political situation in Iraq, according to a statement by the regional government.[/size]
    [size=45]According to the statement, the US Assistant Secretary of State confirmed her country's commitment to continue to support the Kurdistan Region and the Peshmerga, and said: "We will intensify our efforts to solve the problems between the Kurdistan Region and the federal government, especially the differences related to the issue of oil and gas that need to be resolved through negotiations, because the lack of Its solution will negatively affect the security and stability of Iraq.”[/size]
    [size=45]In addition, the Prime Minister presented an overview of the reforms implemented by the ninth cabinet in the areas of diversifying the economy, sources of income and establishing a solid infrastructure.[/size]
    [size=45]Regarding the relations between the Kurdistan Region and the federal government, the Prime Minister stressed that the people of Kurdistan have made great sacrifices in order to obtain their legitimate rights, so they are not ready to give up their constitutional rights under any pressure. He also renewed the desire of the Kurdistan Region to solve the problems in a fundamental way and on the basis of the constitution.[/size]
    [size=45]The meeting, which was attended by the US Ambassador to Iraq, Elena Romanowski, and the US Consul General in the Kurdistan Region, Erf Hicks, dealt with climate change and its negative effects on Iraq and the Kurdistan Region, attention to environmentally friendly, clean and stable energy, and the promotion of American investment and the importance of the private sector in the region.[/size]
