    Alsumaria News - Politics

The Prime Minister, Muhammad Shia' al-Sudani, confirmed today, Thursday, the existence of more than 1,600 lagging development projects accumulated over ten years, while pointing out the need to overcome the disruption caused by the years-long investigations regarding lagging projects.

The media office of the Prime Minister stated in a statement received by Alsumaria News, that "Al-Sudani chaired a meeting devoted to discussing accelerating lag development projects."

According to the statement, the prime minister stressed "the need to move these projects forward and push them towards completion, in a way that guarantees the preservation of public funds."

Al-Sudani stressed, "The obstruction caused by the investigations that have been going on for years regarding lagging projects, or those marred by financial or administrative corruption, must be overcome, with the importance of preserving the interest of the state and preserving public money at the same time."

The Prime Minister indicated, "There are more than 1,600 lag development projects that have accumulated over ten years, and measures must be taken today regarding them, which are required by the public interest and the priority of providing services to citizens, with a commitment to integrity and ensuring that funds are not wasted or lost due to the aging and cessation of projects."

The statement concluded: " The meeting was attended by the Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of Planning, Head of the Integrity Commission, and Head of the Office of Financial Supervision."
