    Shafaq News/ The Federal Minister of Trade announced today, Tuesday, the start of distributing the dues of the farmers of the Kurdistan Region for the years 2015-2016 during the next few years, stressing at the same time the stability of securing food security and strategic storage in the country's governorates.
    The ministry said in a statement received by Shafaq News agency, "The Minister of Commerce, Atheer Daoud Al-Ghurairy, received today, in his office, a delegation of representatives of the Kurdistan Region to discuss a number of files, the most important of which is the payment of the dues of the region's farmers for the years 2015-2016, processing and receiving items of the food basket and flour, and control procedures regarding processing and receipt," indicating that the ministry "is seeking with the relevant authorities to resolve the file of farmers' dues for the years 2015-2016, and the distribution will take place in the coming days."
    The statement added that "the two sides also discussed the files of the marketing season, receiving the wheat crop for this year, securing the dues of farmers and marketers, as well as securing food security, and the ministry's efforts to develop work in all its sectors."
    Minister Al-Ghurairy stressed during the meeting, "the importance of cooperation between the legislative and executive authorities, in a way that contributes to the development of government performance, which will in turn be reflected in the work of various sectors, and this will serve the citizens."
    During the statement, the minister indicated that "all efforts and energies in the ministry have been mobilized in order to deliver foodstuffs to citizens in all governorates, and to follow up on agents on a daily basis through oversight committees, and urged them to communicate with citizens and expedite the preparation of the items of the food basket and flour," noting that "this contributes to The stability of food market prices in all governorates, noting that there is a global rise in the prices of wheat and foodstuffs.
    The statement quoted the Minister of Commerce as saying: "Today, we affirm stability in securing food security and strategic storage in the country's governorates."
