On Sunday, the Ministry of Environment confirmed the trend for a gradual shift towards the use of renewable energies in Iraq.
Undersecretary Jassim Al-Falahi said, "One of the most important matters of concern to the Ministry of Environment is the shift towards renewable energies in Iraq," stressing that "there are contracts that have been concluded in this regard, and we hope to see them on the ground," according to the official news agency.
He added, "The large presence of international companies at the Eighth International Iraq Energy Exhibition and Conference is vital evidence of a different vision for dealing with Iraq, especially as it is a large country capable of diversifying its economy."
