Shafaq News/ The President of the Kurdistan Region, Nechirvan Barzani, and the Governor of the Central Bank of Iraq, Ali Al-Alaq, discussed, this evening, Thursday, ways to coordinate joint action and cooperation between Baghdad and the region’s banks.
A statement from the Presidency of the Region received by Shafaq News Agency stated that Barzani received Al-Alaq in Erbil and they exchanged opinions and viewpoints about the financial conditions of Iraq, the exchange rate of the Iraqi dinar, and the efforts of the Central Bank to achieve financial and economic stability and investment opportunities in Iraq.
Barzani expressed his appreciation for the efforts of the Central Bank of Iraq in confronting the challenges and maintaining the exchange rate of the Iraqi dinar, pointing to the priorities of the Central Bank’s work in dealing with challenges and solving monetary and financial problems.
The two sides stressed the importance of cooperation and coordination between banks in Iraq and the Kurdistan Region and the Central Bank of Iraq, and discussed a group of issues of common interest.
