    Shafaq News/ The President of the Kurdistan Region, Nechirvan Barzani, stressed on Wednesday the need to protect the forces of the international coalition against ISIS and diplomatic missions in Iraq, explaining that terrorism still poses a real danger and threat to the security and stability of the country.
    A statement issued by the regional presidency stated that President Nechirvan Barzani received this morning Marshal Sami Sampson, the British Chief Defense Advisor in the Middle East and North Africa, and a military delegation accompanying him.
    The statement added that the two sides discussed in a meeting the latest developments in the war in Gaza and its expected possibilities and repercussions. In this context, President Nechirvan Barzani reiterated that the aggravation of the situation poses a danger to the entire region, and that is why it is necessary for Iraq to distance itself in every way from war, because war does not solve any problem, and that peace alone is the solution.
    Regarding the political situation in Iraq, the two sides agreed that it is necessary to protect Iraq’s safety and political and security stability and that all parties must act responsibly, and they stressed the need to protect the international coalition forces and diplomatic missions in Iraq from all types of threats, according to the statement.
    The statement noted that in another axis of the meeting, the views of both sides agreed that terrorism still poses a real danger and threat to Iraq's security and security stability, and that is why Iraq and the Kurdistan Region still need the support of the international coalition in order to eliminate ISIS once and for all. In this regard, Mr. Sampson stressed Britain's continued commitment, within the framework of the international coalition, to Iraq and the Kurdistan Region.
    The statement continued that the internal situation of the Kurdistan Region formed another focus of the meeting, as the two sides described the recent meeting and meetings between the Kurdistan Democratic Party and the Patriotic Union of Kurdistan as a positive development.
