    Today, Wednesday (December 13, 2023), Prime Minister Muhammad Shiaa Al-Sudani confirmed to US Secretary of State Anthony Blinken the ability of Iraqi forces to pursue the perpetrators of attacks on diplomatic missions. 
    Al-Sudani’s media office said in a statement received by “Baghdad Today” that “Prime Minister Muhammad Shia’ al-Sudani received, yesterday evening, a phone call from US Secretary of State Anthony,” noting that “during which a number of topics and files in bilateral relations between Iraq and the United States were reviewed.” The United States of America, and ways to strengthen it, as well as addressing the most important developments on the regional and international arenas.” 
    Al-Sudani stressed, according to the statement, “Iraq’s keenness to build partnerships and cooperation with brotherly and friendly countries, and to work jointly towards confronting economic, security and climate challenges, in a way that supports efforts to consolidate stability in the region.” 
    The Prime Minister stressed "Iraq's commitment to protecting diplomatic missions and advisors, stressing the ability of the Iraqi security forces to carry out their duties in pursuing the perpetrators of attacks on diplomatic missions, without the interference of any external party." 
    For his part, Blinken stated, “Continuing joint work and communication between the two sides, welcoming the Iraqi government’s measures to secure diplomatic missions and embassies operating in Iraq, and pursuing the elements behind the attacks on them,” according to the statement.
