    Today, Sunday (February 18, 2024), the Federal Integrity Commission reviewed the efforts of (57) government agencies to enhance integrity and combat corruption. 
    A statement by the Commission received by “Baghdad Today” stated that, “As a culmination of its periodic meetings to implement the provisions of the National Anti-Corruption Strategy for the years 2021-2024, the Federal Integrity Commission announced the end of the effectiveness of the final review of efforts to enhance integrity and combat corruption for the year 2023.” 
    He explained that “the Planning and Research Department of the Commission provided sufficient space for the central teams in government institutions to review their activities and annual completion rates that come within the requirements of implementing the National Strategy for Integrity and Anti-Corruption (2021-2024), indicating that it was held during the period from (7-31/1). /2024) More than (50) workshops to review efforts to enhance integrity and combat corruption in these institutions.” 
    He added, "The efforts made by (57) entities were reviewed, including (23) ministries, (15) governorates, (7) bodies, (3) endowment offices, and two institutions, in addition to the Central Bank, the Trade Bank of Iraq, the Federal Service Council, and the Security Service." National Council, the Independent High Electoral Commission, the Baghdad Municipality, and the Media Network,” pointing to “a review of the successful experiences of government institutions in confronting the phenomena of corruption and its risks, and mentioning the procedures and programs that have an effective impact in achieving that success.” 
    He pointed out that “the central team has been assigned to conduct a self-evaluation of its efforts, while the joint team between the Integrity Commission and the Financial Supervision Bureau will conduct a real-time evaluation of the efforts of the central teams in implementing the National Strategy for Integrity and Anti-Corruption (2021-2024),” pointing out that “later work will be done to implement Strategy requirements for the year 2024. 
    He continued, "The powers of these agencies were reviewed and their proportionality with the responsibilities entrusted to them, their strategic plans, and their performance evaluation systems, in addition to the plans of ministries and institutions towards digital transformation or governance and comprehensive quality, and the extent to which their annual budgets are compatible with the requirements for implementing strategic objectives, in addition to their adoption of internal systems." Approved and announced to regulate its work and the extent to which the job description applies to all required job needs.”
