    Baghdad today - Baghdad 
    Today, Monday (May 6, 2024), the head of the National State Forces Alliance, Ammar al-Hakim, met with a joint delegation from the Resolve and Sovereignty Alliances, renewing the call to hold a session to elect the Speaker of Parliament.
    Al-Hakim's media office stated in a statement received by "Baghdad Today", "The head of the National State Forces Alliance, Ammar al-Hakim, met with the joint delegation of the Al-Azm and Sovereignty Alliances, headed by Muthanna Al-Samarrai, head of the Al-Azm Alliance, and Salem Al-Issawi, head of the parliamentary Sovereignty Bloc, and in the presence of a number of representatives of the two coalitions."
    According to the statement, Al-Hakim called for “a session to elect a new speaker of the House of Representatives,” stressing “the necessity of the honorable Sunni component agreeing to choose a candidate for the position as much as possible, and the importance of him being characterized by good behavior, professionalism, ability to manage, and belief in the new political system.”
    Al-Hakim stressed that "everyone bears the responsibility of preserving the current stability that the country is witnessing and transforming it into permanent stability," pointing out that "the achievements would not have been achieved without the sacrifices of Iraqis from all components."
