[size=45]The National University of Science and Technology in Dhi Qar announced the launch of the Second International Scientific Conference for Engineering Sciences with the participation of 9 Arab and foreign countries, confirming the presentation of 150 scientific research in the field of engineering sciences during the aforementioned conference.[/size]
[size=45]Regarding the work of the conference, which was held on the stage of the local administration lobby in the city of Nasiriyah, under the slogan (Scientific research is the basis for the advancement of countries), the President of the National University, Dr. Abdul Razzaq Laibi Al-Rubaie, told (Al-Mada) that “the international scientific conference is held in cooperation with Dhi Qar University and under the patronage of the Minister of Higher Education.” And scientific research,” he added, “The work of the conference, which continues over two days, includes the presentation of 150 scientific research in the field of engineering sciences by Iraqi, Arab, and foreign researchers from 9 countries.”[/size]
[size=45]He stated that “the research participating in the conference is subject to scientific evaluation by specialists inside and outside Iraq and is published in accredited and reputable journals.”[/size]
[size=45]The President of the National University finds that “the specialized scientific conference seeks to shed light on current and future trends in the field of engineering innovations and their various sciences that contribute to the development of the research movement and serve the people of Dhi Qar Governorate and Iraq in general.”[/size]
[size=45]Regarding the extent to which executive authorities benefit from academic research in which universities present ideas and solutions to societal phenomena, crises, and challenges, Al-Rubaie said, “One of the university’s duties is to hold scientific conferences periodically every year or two,” and he added, “As for the concerned authorities, whether they want to benefit from them or not is a matter.” “It depends on how much it needs that research.”[/size]
[size=45]He confirmed that there are many master's theses and doctoral dissertations that could provide effective ideas, solutions, alternatives, and treatments, but they are still parked on the shelves.[/size]
[size=45]In the Preparatory Committee’s speech, Professor Dr. Falah Al-Asadi, Assistant President of the National University for Scientific Affairs, confirmed that “the National University works according to scientific partnerships with reputable universities in the world, and that our conference received hundreds of reputable scientific research that will be published in international journals.”[/size]
[size=45]In the same context, a statement from Dhi Qar University, of which Al-Mada received a copy, stated that “the President of Dhi Qar University delivered a speech by the Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research, Dr. Naeem Al-Aboudi, on his behalf,” noting that “this conference comes in the context of the steps of scientific and research integration that the University is taking.” Dhi Qar, in partnership with the National University towards scientific progress and institutional integration,” he added, “which creates a scientific environment in which researchers gather to review their latest scientific products in the field of specialized engineering sciences, which represent an essential pillar of the development of society and countries as a fundamental factor in achieving development.”[/size]
[size=45]The conference included the showing of two documentaries about Dhi Qar University and the National University and a speech by the Chairman of the Preparatory Committee. Then the conference sessions began for the first day and the floor was opened for discussion with all attendees in order to achieve the desired goals.[/size]
[size=45]The conference witnessed the presence of a delegation from the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research, a number of university presidents, members of the university council, members of the House of Representatives, local government officials in the governorate, the president of the Iraqi chambers of commerce, department directors, and a number of academics, researchers, university professors, and students.[/size]
[size=45]In a press release from the National University about the conference, it indicated that “the university focused in its second international conference on partnerships and cooperation with the most important reputable institutions inside and outside Iraq,” and added, “and is working to develop the scientific field by holding international events and conferences that support students in all specializations.”[/size]
[size=45]The National University of Science and Technology held its first regular international conference for pure and applied sciences in June 2022, as part of the university’s directions to develop the scientific and cognitive aspect in the field of science and technology.[/size]
