Abu Flus port imports rise to 200%
The General Company for Iraqi Ports announced on Tuesday that imports of Abu Flus Commercial Port increased by 200% during the month of July.
"The reasons for the high rate of imports in the port are due to the new administration, which was recently formed in accordance with a decision by the Ministry of Transport, which has developed a plan to increase revenues," said Anmar Al-Safi, head of the media and public relations department at the company.
He added that "the port recently received 22 naval units loaded with 900 thousand tons of miscellaneous goods and 700 containers."
Al-Safi said that "the port of Abu Flus was preparing until recently to the ports of relatively few imports due to the low rate of anchoring vessels and ships in it."
