(Baghdad: Al-Furat News) The Ministry of Oil announced on Monday the start of pilot operation in a small oil field in the south of the country with an initial production capacity of 20 thousand barrels per day.
A statement of the ministry received the agency {Euphrates News} a copy of the oil minister Jabbar Ali al-Luaibi said, "The oil field (Sbah) in the province of Dhi Qar began experimental production capacity of 20 thousand barrels per day."
He stressed that "his ministry is going to reach the productive capacity to the available energies of the field as well as the optimal investment of gas associated with," noting that "the surface facilities of the field can accommodate production capacity of more than 100 thousand barrels per day."
He explained Allaibi that "the field is working with the efforts of national companies, namely the two oil companies of Dhi Qar and Basra as well as the company of oil projects, all of the government companies belonging to the Ministry of Oil."
It is noteworthy that the field {Saba}, which was discovered in the fifties of the last century is one of the three main oil fields in the province of Dhi Qar had dug the first well in 1975 and then dug three more between 1977 and 1979. Ended
