The Committee on Economy and Investment parliamentary, on Sunday, that the price of fuel is difficult to reduce, especially that Iraq imports gasoline, as it can not be sold less than the cost imported, pointing out that the subject of reduction is not the powers of the House of Representatives as much as it is linked to executive power.
"The subject of reducing the price of gasoline and gas needs to be studied in depth by specialists, not by the parliament as a subject that affects the economy of the country, although the House of Representatives with the reduction of fuel prices," said committee member Nada Shaker Jawdat, .
"Reducing fuel prices is not within the jurisdiction of the House of Representatives, as much as it is related to executive power," she said.
She explained that "the current situation is not appropriate to reduce fuel prices, especially that gasoline imported by Iraq from other countries, where the price can not be reduced and sell less than the real cost." Ending / 25 n
