On Saturday, the Parliamentary Strategic Planning and Government Program Monitoring Committee called on Prime Minister Mustafa Al-Kazemi to adhere to his government program that he pledged to implement regarding the US military presence in Iraq, stressing the implementation of the Parliament’s decision to withdraw foreign forces .
The Vice Chairman of the Committee for the Al-Fateh Alliance, Muhammad Karim Al-Baldawi, said, "The government and security delegation in Washington must abide by the decision of the House of Representatives and the Iraqi government program that Al-Kazemi pledged and obligate the American side to withdraw the military from Iraq ."
Al-Baldawi confirmed that his committee "held extensive meetings with the ministers of foreign affairs, interior and defense before the government delegation headed to Washington to implement the decision to withdraw foreign forces from Iraq ."
Al-Baldawi criticized what he described as “Al-Kazemi’s inability to ask the American side to withdraw its military forces,” suggesting that “the expression had betrayed Al-Kazemi in this regard, unlike former Prime Minister Adel Abdul-Mahdi, who demanded several times that former US Secretary of State Mick Pompeo should withdraw American forces from Iraq ".
Al-Baldawi considered "the presence of US forces in Iraq a plan to dominate and control the countries of the region," noting that "their presence poses a great danger to the security situation in Iraq."
