The Director General of the Commercial and Financial Control Department at the Ministry of Commerce, Muhammad Hanoun, discussed with the Governor of Najaf, Dr. Majid Al-Waeli, a number of files, most notably the preparation of the food basket, strategic storage and preparations for the next marketing season for the wheat crop.

He pointed out, "The Minister of Trade directed the preparation of the Iraqi amber rice marketed by farmers and peasants within the food basket items in the Shalabiyah governorates, which are Najaf, Babil and Diwaniyah, starting from the poor areas. And commercial departments may contribute to achieving the best services for the people of the province.
He explained, "In the coming period, there will be great interest in Najaf Governorate through the Ministry of Commerce, as it is a governorate frequented by millions of people from different regions of the world and an important governorate that constitutes the political, religious and social weight in Iraq. For his part, the Governor of Najaf valued the efforts of the Ministry of Commerce in following up the food basket." Assigning one of the general managers to supervise the mechanisms of preparing the food basket in the governorate, stressing that “the coming period will witness joint coordination with the Ministry of Trade for the purpose of controlling the mechanisms of preparing the food basket and preparations for the marketing season of the wheat crop by providing all facilities to the departments of the Ministry of Trade for the success of the marketing season that It requires concerted efforts in light of the urgent need for wheat as a strategic material to achieve food security.
He referred to a joint meeting of administrative units with trade managers with the aim of coordinating in light of the facilities provided by the Ministry of Trade and Support for the success of the food basket project in Najaf Governorate, where the meeting will discuss mechanisms for coordination between administrative units and trade managers, as well as audit mechanisms with food agents for the purpose of showing operations Preparation or not, and the next stage will be very important in terms of cooperation and consultation, leading to providing the best services to the Najafi citizen.
In the same context, the Director General of Commercial and Financial Control visited the Najaf governmental mill and met the technical and administrative owners of the mill and stressed "the importance of mobilizing all efforts for the purpose of preparing flour for citizens and not allowing room for a rise in flour prices through the slowdown in its processing, indicating that the process of monitoring the mills' work will be Tough in the coming period, and there are administrative and technical measures that will be taken against those who are negligent and slow in the processing of flour to citizens.
He valued the role of workers in the mill by supplying 95% of the proportion of processing to all regions of the governorate.
