Today, Wednesday, a member of the Patriotic Union of Kurdistan, Ghiath al-Sorji, suggested that the tripartite alliance would support one of the independent candidates for the presidency, amid speculation about a third list of candidates that might be accepted by the majority.
Al-Sorji said that the Federal Court's decision unconstitutional to reopen the door for candidacy for the post of President of the Republic was expected, although it would not affect the union, which presented its candidate from the beginning, Barham Salih.
He added that the Democratic Party and its allies may go towards supporting one of the independent candidates for the post of President of the Republic, provided that they do not vote for the current president.
