Member of Parliament, Mustafa Al-Maryani, addressed, on Saturday, the Iraqi Public Prosecution by activating a previous arrest warrant issued against Ali Hatem Al-Sulaiman, one of the elders of the Dulaim tribes in Anbar Governorate, in the west of the country.
Al-Maryani said in a document appended to his signature addressed to the Public Prosecution on April 23, “In the previous days, the presence of the named (Ali Hatem Al-Sulaiman) was noted in Baghdad, who is accused of serious terrorist cases, and an arrest warrant was issued by (Al-Khalidiya Investigation Court / Court). Resumption of Federal Anbar.
The Public Prosecution Office demanded to “initiate legal procedures against this accused.”
Earlier this evening, the leader of the "Al-Fateh" coalition, the Secretary-General of the Badr Organization, Hadi al-Amiri, expressed great surprise at the return of what he called "platform leaders" to the demonstrations of the Sunni regions in 2013, which caused the fall of two-thirds of Iraq to the hands of ISIS in the middle of the year 2014.
Apparently, Al-Amiri refers, in a statement issued to him, to the return of: the former Minister of Finance, Rafi’ Al-Issawi, after the judiciary acquitted him of the charges against him, and Ali Hatem Al-Sulaiman, one of the sheikhs of the Dulaim tribe who was leading a fierce campaign against the Shiites and the regime in Iraq, who returned to The country recently, after they had resided abroad during the previous years.
On Friday, the media office of the head of the State of Law coalition, Nuri al-Maliki, denied what some are promoting about the latter's intervention in dropping charges against a sheikh of the Dulaim tribe, Ali Hatem al-Suleiman.
The news of the return of the wanted Iraqi judiciary, Ali Hatem Al-Sulaiman, to Baghdad, sparked widespread controversy among popular circles in general, and the Anbari community in particular, because he is one of the sheikhs of the Dulaim tribe in the city of Ramadi.
Political sources linked the return of Suleiman, and before him Rafie al-Issawi, and the support of Sattam Abu Risha, as a planner for the forces of the coordination framework to oppose Parliament Speaker Muhammad al-Halbousi, with the return of former leaders in his traditional stronghold, in response to his alliance with the leader of the Sadrist movement Muqtada al-Sadr.
