    The Information/Baghdad...
The independent Iraqi politician Jamal Muhammad called, on Saturday, to investigate the ownership of the money spent to build the palace of Parliament Speaker Muhammad al-Halbousi in Anbar Governorate.
Muhammad said in an interview with “Information” that “many videos have been circulating on social media for weeks, showing His Excellency the Palace of Parliament Speaker Muhammad al-Halbousi in Anbar, despite the economic crisis that the country has been going through for years, reaching the point of borrowing to pay the salaries of employees in some months.”
Muhammad added, "It is our right to call for an investigation to find out the ownership of the money that was spent to build the Al-Halbousi Palace, which cost huge sums, indicating that the wealth of Al-Halbousi and any other Iraqi official requires transparent investigations to show the ownership of the money and whether it is private or came from the Iraqi state treasury."
He pointed out that "the outrageous wealth of some politicians from the liberated provinces, including Anbar, despite the presence of tens of thousands of displaced families who live on the ruins of their homes, angers the Iraqi street in general," noting that "Al-Halbousi is the head of the legislative authority and revealed the ownership of his palace's money comes from the door of transparency." finished/ 25 f
