    Economy News - Baghdad
    The Media Department of the House of Representatives announced, on Saturday, that the parliament session held today witnessed a demand to raise the salaries of the retirees.
    In a statement, the department stated, "A number of deputies demanded (during today's session) the cancellation of the minutes concluded by the previous government related to the economic zone and the railways, the selection of competent personalities in the management of the Civil Aviation Authority, and the compensation of the marsh areas from the damage caused by the water scarcity, and their inclusion in Article 140."
    The session also witnessed the demand to "reduce the risks of drug spread in society and to stand firm against gangs smuggling crude oil from transport pipelines to prevent them from stealing public money and recommending to the federal government to address the housing crisis and asking the Kirkuk governorate administration to provide white oil to citizens and end their suffering from the resulting pollution." About Kirkuk Cement Factory.
    The session also witnessed, "a demand to raise the minimum salaries for the retirees and to include the victims of the explosion in the banking area in Baghdad in the Martyrs' Foundation Law."
